The guide
How Jaabitaa works
The people's menu index — every dish in the city, put there by the people who eat it.
The idea
Restaurants have menus; cities don't. Jaabitaa is the city's menu: every place, every dish, with prices, searchable in one spot and kept honest by votes from people who actually ate there. No listing fees, no promoted results — a dish rises only because eaters voted it up.
How a place gets on the map
Any member adds a place: shoot the menu board or card, the reader turns the photos into dishes, you check and confirm. The same place added twice gets joined, never duplicated. Every place reads like a book — the place itself on page one, then one page per menu section. Swipe, or use the tabs.
Votes
▲ if you'd order it again, ▼ if not; tap again to take it back. A vote cast standing at the place counts a little more — allow location once and that happens by itself. A place's ★ must-try is its best-voted dish, and the home page's Greatest hits and Hidden gems are worked out per locality, so a quiet neighbourhood is judged against itself, not against a food street.
Keeping it accurate
Menus change. Suggest a fix on any dish — price, veg, timing, section — and it applies once enough eaters agree; names and descriptions pass through a moderator. A dish that's gone can be reported, and restored if it comes back. Every change is logged, and reversible.
Finding food
Search understands dishes — "cake" finds the pancakes too. Pick a locality, or a whole city, from the 📍 above; "nearest to me" sorts everything by distance once you share location. Inside a menu, the funnel filters by veg, a price cap and words.
Your people
Follow eaters whose taste you trust — the Feed shows what they liked, and only what they liked, never what anyone voted down. Find eaters near you, or ones who eat like you, under Eaters.
Who runs this
Verified members write; moderators clear reports and fixes, and every moderator action is logged and undoable. What we keep about you is small and spelled out in plain words in the privacy policy.
That's it
Add the place you're eating at — the index only grows where someone shoots the first menu.
